My five-year-old daughter has recently developed horribly smelly feet. She has no obvious foot rashes or diseases. Do you have any ideas?

Discard smelly trainers and give her cotton socks and leather shoes. She should avoid wearing the same pair of socks two days in a row, to starve the bacteria. Give her one 30c dose of homeopathic silica once a day for five days. Put two drops each of tea tree and lavender essential oils in a bowl, and bathe feet for 10 minutes each day for a month. Make sure she is drinking lots of fluids and that her bowels are functioning well. If the problem continues, consult a homeopath. Silica and oils are available from Neal's Yard Remedies (020-7627 1949; nealsyardremedies.com).

I've got an itchy and unsightly rash in my armpits. I changed to non-paraben deodorants last year, and use a crystal followed by a herbal deodorant spray. I shave once a week. Should I return to conventional antiperspirants?

Keep using your natural deodorants, but use one or the other, not both. Soothe'n'Smooth is a colloidal spray solution of natural nutrients and essential oils with an antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-itch and anti- inflammatory action (by Salcura, £19.95 for 100ml, 0800 389 8195). It restores, nourishes, protects and aids recovery from irritation, stress or damage such as shaving. When we remove hairs, each one can curl up inside the follicle as it regrows. This can result in red bumps. Soothe'n'Smooth strengthens the hair erector muscles and nourishes follicles so hairs can grow normally. Use once or twice a day, and more often just after shaving. Your rash should clear up within a few days.
