More than half of women aged 25 to 45 in Britain intend to have cosmetic surgery, a survey reveals today.
In the study, commissioned by women's glossy Grazia, 54% of those interviewed said they "will have cosmetic surgery". The survey, based on interviews with 1,000 women across England, Scotland and Wales with an average age of 34, also found that 11% had undergone procedures ranging from nose jobs and breast enlargements to "plumped up lips" and line removal.
Of those considering the move, 64% thought that it would give them more confidence, 42% wanted to look younger and 13% said they wanted to look more attractive to men.
Grazia's editor, Jane Bruton, said: "In the last decade or so, having cosmetic surgery has become as normal as having your hair done."
