Do you take any vitamins or supplements?
I used to take a multivitamin every day but it wrecked my skin - must have been something in it.
Do you prefer healthy food or fast food?
Why can't healthy food be fast? I do not like fast food as a rule. My food is fuel for my work. Every now and then, my body says to me, "Why are you doing this for so long without letting yourself go?" So I might have a burger and chips. But I squeeze all the fat out of them. And I don't eat cheese. And the chips have to be fat.
How do you chill out?
I do quite a bit of painting. If I have more than half a day off, I'm in the car, so I relax on the M6 with millions of other drivers.
What foods do you have in your shopping trolley?
Chicken, pasta, bran, cereals, porridges, fruit and skimmed milk. Whatever I buy, I have to check the fat percentages.
What have you eaten today?
For breakfast, four slices of toast with gooseberry jam and a bowl of bran flakes. A ham salad sandwich after work, and we've just had a large plate of pasta. I pushed the boat out and had some tomato sauce on it.
Do you smoke?
No; I did for 15 years.
Do you drink alcohol?
The rule is not to drink two or three days before a game, and I don't go anywhere near that. I only drink white wine, and don't mix my drinks - very boring.
