My body & soul

Are you healthy?

I wouldn't say that I'm as pure as the driven snow. I still smoke cigarettes and enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail, but when you've had your life so unmanageable and so unhealthy in the past, you flick the switch.

Ever spent a night in hospital?

I don't have tonsils or an appendix so I probably spent a night in hospital as a child, but the last time was to reconstruct my nose, three years ago, which was totally shaming.

Do you worry about your weight?

I've never worried at all, ever. Everyone else does that for me. I've always eaten a lot, had a lot of energy and burnt it all off. I know I look better when I have a bit of weight on, but I have to eat three times the amount of a normal person to show anything, which sounds really lucky, but it's like having to spend £1m in an hour.

How do you relax?

I play the piano. It's the one stipulation I have, wherever I go. I have to have a piano and an ashtray. I've played the piano for two hours a day since I was five.

How much do you smoke?

You can tell which cigarette butts are mine because they're really long. The intake of smoke is obviously very damaging but more so is the smoke around your face. I'm really conscious of teeth and skin so I'm likely to have three puffs and then put it out.

Attitude to drugs?

I'm completely anti-drugs. If I kiss somebody hello and they're on cocaine, I can smell it in their pores and it immediately makes me want to throw up. I would dump a guy within a second if he was into drugs. I'm not saying I was right, but when I was using cocaine it did have some glamour to it. It was about dinner parties, silver trays, the cocaine set, and as awful as that was, the stuff I was doing was incredibly pure. Now it's rat poison, Ajax and a little bit of cocaine. I'm out of the loop, but the drug world has become really seedy. Once you've been at rock bottom you never want to go back. Drugs are history. Big time.

Is sex important to you?

I could go a year without it and I wouldn't care. I have to know someone, and like them first. Mind you, when it comes round I really go killer.

How do you feel about cosmetic surgery?

I've never been a fan of botox because when I'm cross I want people to know. And I like crow's feet - what's wrong with them? You can have collagen injections now to make your boobs bigger - I'd probably try that, it's the actual knife that scares me.
