Fast food chains Pizza Hut and KFC are to post calorie information on menu boards on display in their US restaurants in a move that could be adopted in their UK outlets.
Yum Brands, the parent company, has announced calorie information will appear next to the product's name and price at their restaurants across the US.
Nutritionists hailed it as 'groundbreaking'. It will force the spotlight on to other fast food chains, including McDonald's.
A spokesman for KFC and Pizza Hut in the UK said: 'All our nutritional information is available in store and online. However, we are reviewing ways to provide nutritional information to our customers, including calorie count. This initiative will be reviewed over time.'
