Are you healthy? Since I've stopped playing I probably haven't been as healthy as I should have been. I'm just giving myself a little bit of a relaxation period.
Ever spent a night in hospital? Loads, with my knee injury. And when I was eight I was run over on my bike – I broke my leg and fractured my skull, so I had to stay in for six weeks.
Any notable accidents? When I was a lad I told my mates that I could walk in a straight line with my eyes shut, so I tried, but I walked into a lamppost and cut my head open and had to go to hospital for stitches.
What exercise do you take? I do a lot of biking and cross training, and a weights programme probably two or three days a week. Nothing too gruelling. I have a power plate at home which I use quite often. I don't play any cricket at all now, apart from in the garden with my little lad.
What's your attitude to smoking? I tried smoking as a kid, and I hated it. I don't mind being around people who have a cigar, but not cigarettes.
And drugs? I've never touched them. I don't understand what a couple of pints can't give you that drugs can. In sport, performance-enhancing drugs are a big no-no. You can't kid yourself, or your opponents.
Are you happy? Very. I have the peace of mind that I achieved quite a lot in cricket, and I didn't leave the game with any bitter moments or personality clashes.
How much do you drink? Since I finished playing, probably too much. I'm a bit of a binge drinker – it depends what's happening on the social circuit at the time.
Have you ever had therapy? I saw a homeopath once, when I was England captain and I was quite stressed. It was just nice to speak to someone who didn't have a clue who I was and get things off my chest.
How do you feel about cosmetic surgery? I'm not against it, I think the modern world is all about looking good – both men and women. If it makes people feel good about themselves, I don't have any problem with it at all. Would I consider it? Yeah, course I would.★
