What are the best RSI solutions for computer working?

I’ve seen alternative mice, pens and rollerballs but don’t know if any actually work

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.

This week’s question:

Working at home, I spend hours at my computer and suffer RSI in my arm. There seem to be plenty of alternative mice out there – there’s even an optical pen version for £150. I’d pay it if I thought it would cure it – anyone else found a low-cost solution?
