People think that professional athletes never get bored in training, but believe me, we do. Also, everyone goes through a period where they just don't seem to be getting anywhere.
The thing to do is vary your regime. If you're a runner, you can do fartleks, a type of interval training. Instead of running for 30 minutes at one pace, intersperse bursts of sprinting with longer periods at a steady jog. It raises your heart rate and improve your endurance. Or do hill training - great for firming up the bottom muscles. All athletes will find weight training helpful - and it won't necessarily bulk you up. Sets of 15 repetitions using light weights will tone your muscles and build your strength.
