A young girl is eating pots of cream every day as part of a special diet to control her epilepsy. Lucy Murphy's condition was so severe she had to make frequent trips to hospital. Doctors recommended the nine-year-old start a ketogenic diet which uses fat instead of carbohydrates as fuel for the brain. The fat produces ketones which can help prevent seizures. Lucy is supported by a specialist dietician funded by the charity Daisy Garland. Her mother, Denise Murphy from Exeter, said there had been a big improvement since Lucy moved to a diet with an estimated 80% fat. She said: "She has cream with everything."
