Neil Spencer on your astrological week ahead

Sagittarius

22 Nov-21 Dec

A climactic month begins when the all-conquering Sun reaches Sagittarian skies on Thursday (at 4.50pm). Even those of you who are not following Jupiter's example to fly free into the sunrise can't stay meekly at home. Saturday's full Moon immediately pushes Centaurs (and their partners) way out of any comfort zone. Try to take the night's cavorting steady.

Capricorn

22 Dec-19 Jan

Slow and steady professional progress is good but, to borrow a phrase from the school report, you can do better. The key is to give accomplices and colleagues a stake in your success - otherwise they become competitors. Play the good boss. In romantic relationships you have to be similarly giving - even if you suspect you're being taken advantage of.

Aquarius

20 Jan-19 Feb

There's still a lot of tiptoeing to be done around work and career issues, but in terms of contacts, friendships and romances, the planetary tides are running in your favour. Networking, nosiness and showing off all promise a pay- off, especially on Saturday - this is not the time for a quiet night in.

Pisces

20 Feb-20 Mar

A favoured week for pushing on projects and/or pushing your luck. Long-distance contacts and Piscean intuition figure large among your assets, as does a 'take no prisoners' attitude. Empathy is good, but being a pushover isn't. Career choices become clearer next weekend.

Aries

21 Mar-19 Apr

You're doubtless in a hurry to get things done, but as your planets favour lovers rather than fighters, slow down and savour what, or rather who, is on offer. Significant others need to come first. The Sun's arrival in Sagittarius on Thursday opens a more expansive month - widen your horizons.

Taurus

20 Apr- 20 May

For flexing your will, the end of the week is better than the next four days, when the Sun's opposition calls for Taurean patience and diplomacy. What's more, the information on offer looks suspect. From Thursday evening on, toot your trumpet and the world listens.

Gemini

21 May- 20 Jun

Providing you show due diligence at work, give full play to other fancies: children, hobbies, art - anything that speaks to your heart. This is a favoured, perhaps enchanted patch before December's sterner tests. Don't burn out before Saturday, when a full Moon in your skies raises the emotional temperature and may require you to play to the gallery.

Cancer

21 Jun-22 Jul

A confusing mix of red and green lights is flashing (especially for birthdays circa or before 4 July). One close relationship or project needs months more growing time, while another that promised much around your birthday sparks back into life. Either way, a purge of emotional baggage is called for. This week's soft spot: your beautiful home - make it so!

Leo

23 Jul-22 Aug

Accentuate the positive. As officialdom is less likely to give you the credit you (clearly!) deserve this week, endure being sidelined without fuss. By contrast, Venus and Jupiter signal a social life rich in simpatico souls and flashy fellow travellers - maybe even romance. You can't party every night, but Saturday's full Moon promises something out of the ordinary.

Virgo

23 Aug-22 Sep

Even male Virgos are known to multi-task with ease - and here's a week in which to ruthlessly dispose of small-scale tasks, courtesy of Mercury. Decisions on the major issues - home, career, divorce - are probably inescapable over the next month, so be sure to give yourself time and credit when making them. Next weekend's full Moon should beam a clear signal.

Libra

23 Sep-23 Oct

Venus in your skies will attract genuine admirers, flatterers and people intent on making an unsavoury point. It's down to you how you respond to such provocation - with polite disdain, hostility or mutual attraction. As Saturday's freakish full Moon promises to drag you through all emotions in rapid order, have your antennae finely tuned.

Scorpio

24 Oct-21 Nov

With the Sun in your sign till Thursday you're on the front foot. The more alert you are to others' moods, the better - with two planets changing direction, people involved in your plans may follow suit. The full Moon should show who's sticking around and who isn't.
